You’ve spent months working on your magnum opus – but how will you get anyone to buy it? In this talk, Valerie Magri and Renee Archbold of Astralore Games will take us through some tools and techniques for marketing an indie game, with a focus on building a social media presence. We’ll talk about some different types of paid advertising, organic reach, audience targeting, interactions, in-person promotion, writing ad copy, and more.

Astralore Games is currently developing Nightglove Institute, a visual novel about espionage, robots, and amnesiac teenagers. Valerie Magri, the team lead, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Game Design & Development from RIT, and does most of the design, art, and programming work for the studio. Renee Archbold, the social media manager and one of the team’s writers, spends her free time testing marketing strategies and researching how to become famous.
